While we love dogs, please note the Blackwood Marathon travels through working farmland and private property, including areas with livestock.
For the safety of animals and competitors, it's preferred that dogs stay at home for the race.
If you do bring your dog:
Dogs must be on a lead at all times and under control.
They are not permitted near the horse start area or the finish line.
Spectator areas like Jayes Bridge are suitable spots to watch the action with your dog - just stay clear of high-traffic handover points.
Dogs are not allowed on private properties along the course – Please respect landowner agreements: dogs are strictly not allowed along the course route
No dogs are allowed in camping areas at the Sportsground & Showgrounds due to safety and livestock proximity.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping all animals and people safe.
Where dogs are welcome:
Playful Pawz – A fantastic new off-lead dog park in Bridgetown, perfect for a run and play.
Bridgetown River Walks – Leashed dogs are welcome on many of the scenic walking trails (just follow local signage).
Pet-friendly accommodation – A number of local stays offer pet-friendly options. Check Airbnb or local listings for availability.
